I jotted down a few phrases that stuck in my mind from my mostly (!) straightforward and really positive birth and started sewing a bit randomly. In hindsight I realised that they each act as a little milestone along the journey of the birth: marking the before, the during, immediately before I birthed him, and the after - I sewed them in chronological order too which wasn't on purpose! They aren't phrases I would have associated with birth before, but now they are the things that for one reason or another I remember being said above others.
