This work sums up my first few hours of motherhood. I was shocked, stunned and traumatised rather than elated, as promised by the magazines! My life and myself had literally been torn apart... and then badly stitched back together in a way I hadn’t asked for. Thankfully my heart had become braver than I had ever thought possible!
