I was over the moon when I was told at 17 that I was pregnant as I was told when I was younger due to a childhood experience that I may not be able to have children. The lace represents the fashion in 1983, frilly blouses etc and my innocence of being 17. I bled for about 6 weeks after, which I wasn't expecting. I had stitches and was told by my midwife that they would heal quicker/better if I put half a cup of salt in my bath, which I did.
